Beauty is in the Eye(brow) of the Beholder
To the uninitiated, the impact that perfectly arched eyebrows can have on a woman’s appearance can seem, less than eye catching, as it were. The rest of us beauty disciples, however, know that a well-sculpted brow – perhaps more than any other facial feature – can dramatically alter one’s face.
The trick is in knowing how to achieve the brow shape that best suits your face. Here’s how:
Winning arches: The most common mistake we make when shaping our brows is plucking them in the wrong spots. To find your perfect arch, position a pencil so that one end touches the end of your nostril and the other hovers over your pupil. This is where your arch should be.
Please don’t overtweeze: Anyone who has ever over plucked knows that a bare brow is a sad brow. Indeed, most beauty professionals advise that women should avoid plucking their brows any more than once every three weeks. Also, take care to pluck only one hair at a time.
Avoid the dark side: Many of us find ourselves reaching for eyebrow pencils in shades that are far too dark for our complexions and our hair colors. In fact, let your current hair color dictate your eyebrow pencil color by selecting a pencil color that is a couple of shades lighter than your hair.
Your eyebrows are one of the most expressive and noticeable features on your face, so a brow overhaul, compliments of the above tips and tricks, is in order. No more browsing (pun intended); it’s time to take action!
